A cyanobacteria WARNING (ADVISORY) has been REMOVED for Whittemore Lake, Bennington.
If you have any questions please feel free to call the Town Office 603-588-2189. **UPDATE BELOW**

The cyanobacteria WARNING (ADVISORY) that was issued on 28 August 2023 has been REMOVED for Whittemore Lake, Bennington as of today 26 September 2023. While the bloom accumulation has dissipated, NHDES advises that lake-goers look out for discoloration or surface accumulations in the future. Please continue to monitor your individual shoreline for changing conditions.

The red cyanobacteria advisory signs can now be removed from public access points.

~ Bennington Transfer Station

The Bennington Transfer Station will have new hours effective October 1, 2023
The new hours will be Wednesday 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm; Friday 1:30 pm – 6:30 pm; and Saturday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
All trash must be bagged.

Zoning Board of Adjustment

Notice has been given that a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 7:15 p.m. at the Bennington Town Hall concerning an application by Michael and Lisa Caisse for a Variance concerning article VII, Section C of the Bennington Zoning Ordinance. Applicant proposes replacing a mobile home with a modular home which does not meet the front and side set back requirements on the property located at 15 Dodge Hill Road in the Rural/Agricultural District, further identified as Map 11, Lot 6.

TOWN OF BENNINGTON
 WINTER PARKING BAN

  Effective November 1 through May 1, no vehicle shall be parked on any street in the Town of Bennington from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., nor parked on any street in such a manner as to impede snow removal. No person shall stop or cause to be stopped or park a vehicle in a manner which interferes with any snow removal operation regardless of date and time. Vehicles found to be in violation of the Parking Ordinance may receive a summons and/or may be towed by the Bennington Police Department.
