What’s
the busiest place in Town?
The Town Clerk's Office will be closed on Saturday, August 2nd.
You could get arguments, but ONE of the busiest places
is the Town Clerk’s office. Most people associate
us with the place to go for auto registrations, but the
Clerk
also serves a dozen other functions, some of which are
listed on this website.
We’re here to serve. We encourage suggestions on how
we can do a better job … and, of course, stay within
the budget. Feel free to speak to us at any time, or, if
you choose to call or e-mail, please do so.

Important Info: |
New Title Law |
The
state has been changing the title law to a 15-year law.
Vehicles that do not need a title are now a year 1993
or older. If you are registering an exempt vehicle for
the first time you will need to have a VIN verification
or bring the current registration from the last owner
or an out-of-state title. We cannot complete the registration
without one of these.
Paperwork for a VIN verification can be obtained at the Town Clerk's office. The VIN verification myst be completed by a police offier, inspection station, or dealership.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION
By Mail
|
If you would like to renew your registration from home you now can do that. Prior to your month of renewal, you should receive a form in the mail. On this you will find listed your current vehicles and the State and Town fees for them. Simply write two checks … one to the Town of Bennington and one to the State of NH-MV and mail them back to the Town Clerk’s office with a self-addressed stamped return envelope. We will process your registration and mail your new registration and decals back to you promptly … no waiting in lines. The mail-in program does add $1.00 to your registration fee.
If you have any questions about this program please call us at 588-2189. |
DOG(S) REGISTRATION
By Mail
|
Owners who registered dogs last year will receive a form in the mail near the beginning of the year. Please check the information and make corrections if needed. Please make sure your dog's rabies innoculation is up to date. The form will inform you when our annual Rabies Clinic is. This is a great time to update shots and register your dogs. |
